The colloquium of the DFG Priority Program 1158 "Antarctic Research" will be integral part of the program, planned to take place on Monday (02 May) and Wednesday (04 May).
We are happy that Prof. Markus Rex (AWI Research Unit Potsdam) agreed to give the public evening lecture on Tuesday (03 May 2022).
We will inform on the final structure of the programm by the end of March 2022.
Oral presentations and posters
ORAL PRESENTATIONS can be uploaded as PowerPoint or PDF files. Information on format and resolution will be provided in due time.
POSTER should be prepared in format DIN A0 portrait.
Conference language is English (however, selected presentations or sessions may be held in German).
The three best poster presentations will be awarded € 300, € 200 and € 100, respectively.

The realization of the individual excursions depends on the number of interested participants. Expenses for the participation in one of the excursions will be fixed later (when the registration will have been opened). Booking will be realized together with the registration; the respective costs have to be added to and will be paid together with the registration fee.

There is a reduced registration fee for DGP members. If you are not yet a member of the DGP but would like to benefit from this reduced registration fee you can become a DGP member by submitting the membership application form (which can be found at the website) together with paying the registration fee.
The student registration fee holds for Bachelor, Master and PhD students.
The registration fee includes all coffee breaks (from Monday to Thursday), Icebreaker Reception (Sunday evening) and Conference Dinner (Wednesday evening).
Lunch will be served by the canteen (which is situated in the same building like the conference venue). Due to organizational reasons the participants are asked to pay by themselves for the lunch, which has the advantage that you are able make up your own choice from the rich selection offered by the canteen. Price range: € 3 to 6.
The payment of the registration fee can be made in two ways: (a) by bank transfer – which is the preferred method of payment, and (b) by credit card. Please be aware that for credit card payment an additional fee of € 3 will be charged. A form for credit card payment will be provided by 1 February 2022 at the latest (together with the activation of the registration form):

Funding (travel grants)
The DGP will support the participation particularly of students and young scientists by awarding travel grants. These grants will be in the range of € 150 to € 250 depending on the calculated costs. To apply for a travel grant please use this form.
Equality policies including child care
The DFG Priority Programme 1158 "Antarctic Research" and the DGP place particular emphasis on the promotion and equality of women conducting research in polar regions. Like the DFG, SPP 1158 is firmly committed to equal opportunities and equality for women and men scientists in the German science system. For this reason, at this year's Status Colloquium, which is an integral part of the 28th International Polar Conference, SPP 1158 is focusing on women as presenters.
The DGP calls for a photo contest. Deadline for submission of respective photographs is 31 March 2022.
The three best photographs will be award prizes of € 150, € 100 and € 50, respectively.
